In 2024, starting OTR Nissan Qashqai prices for new vehicles ranged from £30,135 for an Acenta DIGT140 2WD MT all the way up to £42,980 for the Tekna+ e-POWER 190 2WD AT (although the lowest Tekna+ trim starts at £38,875). But there are many variants in between and rarely are vehicles sold at starting OTR prices, because cars might include some extras like a different paint colour that can raise the price. So in real life, how much does a Nissan Qashqai really cost?

The NimbleFins car data experts have dug into publicly available new and used car data to learn how much motorists are really paying for their Nissan Qashqai cars. Across different trim variants, the study found that the average price for a brand new Nissan Qashqai was £34,781 in the summer of 2024.

Cost of a new Nissan Qashqai

In mid-2024, the average asking price for a brand new Nissan Qashqai was £34,996 in the UK. This figure reflects the average of close to 200 brand new vehicles for sale across Acenta, N-Connecta, N-Design, Tekna and Tekna+ trim levels.

Cost of a used Nissan Qashqai

Used cars depreciate as soon as they drive off the lot. How much cheaper is a Qashqai once it's a few years old? NimbleFins analysis of data from over 1,200 Nissan Qashqai vehicles shows that cars lose around £3,000 in their first year, then up to £4,000 the second year and another £4,000 the third year. The depreciation can be surprisingly high at year 3 when many cars come out of leases and enter the used car market.

Nissan Qashqai Insurance Costs

NimbleFins analysed hundreds of cheap car insurance quotes and determined that a low-risk driver could pay in the range of £300 - £400 a year to insure a new Nissan Qashqai with comprehensive cover, making the Qashqai one of the cheaper cars to insure in the UK.

Prices can vary significantly across driver profiles (e.g. age, driving record, location, etc.) but also by type of vehicle so your prices will certainly vary. But generally speaking, more expensive cars cost more to insure so higher trim levels might be more costly to insure—but in the case of the Qashqai, not by much.

In fact, NimbleFins tests showed that for Nissan Qashqai, an N-Connect, N-Design or Tekna can all cost less to insure compared to an Acenta. There could be many reason for this. Perhaps the Acenta is more likely to be stolen, for instance. Also, there seem to be fewer Acentas licensed in the UK; perhaps to popularity of the other trim levels serves to make the insurance market more competitive for those vehicles, as insurers will have more data and knowledge available for their pricing models.

Nissan Qashqai Road Tax Cost

The road tax for a new Nissan Qashqai depends on the type of fuel / energy and the list price. The Nissan Qashqai road tax for the first year is typically £260, because most vehicles have a CO2 value of 142-145g/km.
