In 2024, starting OTR Tesla Y prices for new vehicles ranged from £44,990 for a Standard Range (up to 267 miles with 20" wheels or 283 miles with 19" wheels, WLTP) with rear-wheel drive up to £59,990 for a Performance trim (up to 319 miles, WLTP) with all-wheel drive. In between, the Long Range (up to 331 miles, WLTP) with all-wheel drive starts from £52,990. (Where WLTP refers to the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure.)

What price are Tesla Y cars really selling for in the UK? Across different trim and fuel types, NimbleFins analysis of new cars for sale in summer 2024 found that the average price for a brand new Tesla Y across different variants and features was £54,500. These figures reflects the average of 100 brand new vehicles for sale across the three variants.
Cost of a used Tesla Y
As with all vehicles, the cost of a used Tesla Y declines with car age. NimbleFins analysis of over 275 Tesla Y vehicles in the used car market indicates that cars resold within their first registration year are roughly £12,700 cheaper than a brand new car, or 23% less. Then the data show that a Tesla Y depreciates another 9% or so the next year, and 6% the following year.

Tesla Y Insurance Costs
NimbleFins gathered hundreds of the cheapest car insurance quotes and discovered that a low-risk driver would need to pay over £800 to insure a Standard Range Tesla Y, but that the Performance and Long Range variants would cost the same driver over £1,200 per year. These vehicles are more expensive, and would cost more to replace in the event of theft or write off—resulting in higher premiums.
