The NimbleFins car data experts have dug into publicly available new and used car data to learn how much motorists are really paying for a VW T-Roc. Here's what we found.

Cost of a new VW T-Roc

In 2024, starting OTR VW T-Roc prices for new vehicles ranged from £28,330 for a Life trim up to £45,550 for an R variant, with four additional trims and price points in between.

What price are VW T-Roc cars really selling for in the UK? Across different trim and fuel types, NimbleFins analysis of brand new cars for sale in summer 2024 found that the average price for a brand new VW T-Roc across different trim and fuel types was £32,415 (ranging from under £30,000 for a Life or Match trim to over £45,000 for an R variant). These figures reflects the average of over 150 brand new vehicles for sale across the five trim levels and four engine types.

Cost of a used VW T-Roc

As with all vehicles, the cost of a used VW T-Roc declines with car age. NimbleFins analysis of over 700 VW T-Roc vehicles in the used car market indicates that cars resold sometime in their registration year are around £1,000 cheaper than the average cost of a new T-Roc. Then a VW T-Roc depreciates around 13% per year in the next few years.

VW T-Roc Insurance Costs

NimbleFins market tested hundreds of cheap car insurance policies found that a low-risk driver could pay as little as £445 a year or so to insure an entry-level VW T-Roc. The cheapest rates for a sample driver (who has a spotless driving and claims record) were quoted for a T-Roc with a Style trim. Life and Match were slightly more expensive (~5% more). An R-Line vehicle cost around £500 to insure for the sample driver, while the R Motion TSI was the most expensive in our tests, at a cost of £736 per year for comprehensive cover.

The road tax for a new VW T-Roc is highly variable, due to the wide array of engines, trims and list prices. First year road tax rates for a VW T-Roc can range from £0 to £1,650, while ongoing road tax rates range from £190 to £600 per year.
